Devi Kroell
Devi Kroell launched her premiere handbag collection in the spring of 2004 to great acclaim from stores, magazines, celebrities, and peers in the fashion industry. Now four years later, Kroell?s collections are carried worldwide in such highly respected stores as Barney?s New York, Harvey Nichols Hong Kong, Saks Fifth Avenue, and premium boutiques. Her exquisite talent and unique designs can be attributed to her varied upbringing. As the daughter of a diplomatic father, Kroell spent her childhood in Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Switzerland, Israel, France, Italy, and her native Austria. Her designs emit a perfect fusion of her nomadic past and her home today, which she calls New York. Today, Kroell lives in Manhattan with her husband, daughter, and their dog, Santo.
In June of 2006, Kroell was honored at the CFDA Awards with the Swarovski Perry Ellis Award for Accessory Design. That same month she opened her first flagship boutique on Main Street in East Hampton, New York. In Fall 2008, she looks forward to the opening of her second boutique on Madison Avenue in New York City, where she intends to celebrate the debut of her ready to wear line. Always catering to new innovations and ideas, Kroell?s company continues to expand.
She is continuously seeking fresh ideas, new materials, and different styles to incorporate into her designs. Kroell has said that her inspiration comes from New York where she ?tries to take out the essences of all cultures.? Kroell continues to be held in the highest regard in such publications as Vogue, W, Elle, Harper?s Bazaar, and WWD where she is a favorite among top fashion editors and writers.
