Leiber

Since 1953, every First Lady has carried a custom-made Judith Leiber bag to the Presidential Inaugurations. And it's no wonder - the Leiber brand is synonymous with American luxury.

Hungarian-born Judith Leiber launched the Leiber Company in 1963. Drawing inspiration more from art than from fashion, Judith created bags that were stylish, sophisticated and often whimsical. Her famous crystal evening bags were born when she first used crystals to cover a flawed silver box.

Judith retired in 1998, and Leiber continues to add new and exciting designs and fabrications to the collection - buttery leathers, exotic skins, luxurious satins, velvets - and of course, signature crystals.

Not only are Leiber bags carried by celebrities like Oprah Winfrey, Heidi Klum and Cate Blanchett, they are also part of the permanent design collections at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian Institute in Washington and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
