Chloe was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, an Egyptian-born Parisienne, whom rejected the stiff formality of 50's fashion and created a look that was unique for the time, feminine and free-flowing.

Throughout the years, Chloe has been known to discover new creative talents, resulting in an emergence of must have new designs. In 1966, Chloe appointed the as yet unknown designer, Karl Lagerfeld as head designer. In 1997, Stella McCartney famously reinvented Chloe once more, followed by Phoebe Philo, and most recently Hannah McGibbon was appointed as head designer in March 2008.

As a result of the success of denim and jersey pieces in the Chloe collection, it was decided to create a 2nd line in reaction to this need. See By Chloe was launched in 2001, originally as a denim line.

Since its inception, See By Chloe has grown into a diverse and complete ready to wear line, as well as recently expanding into Handbags and accessories.
